Consumer Choice Award

Celebrating SA's favourite food and beverage producers

Support from the public is very important to our state's food and beverage manufacturers and producers, making the Consumer Choice Award, sponsored by Foodland Supermarkets, one of the most highly anticipated categories in the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards program. The Consumer Choice Award lets the public decide!

The Consumer Choice Award is a standout category in the South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards — giving the public the power to recognise the local brands they know and love. This award celebrates South Australian food and beverage businesses that have earned strong customer loyalty through quality products, great service, and a lasting community presence.

Voting is now open online, with the Top 20 finalists and two winners determined by the highest number of consumer votes — one winner from a business with fewer than 15 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees and one from a business with more than 15 FTEs. Winners will be announced at the prestigious Awards Gala Dinner on Friday, 14 November 2025.

This is a valuable opportunity for businesses to gain meaningful public recognition and showcase the connections they have built with their customers.

Voting opens on Monday 28 July 2025 and closes Monday September 29 2025.

  • Winners are determined by public vote via the voting platform (one per person allowed).

Any South Australian food or beverage manufacturer or producer is eligible.

A business can be nominated by a member of the public or they can vote for themselves. You don’t have to be a resident of South Australia to vote.

Two Consumer Choice Awards are presented each year, one for businesses with up to 15 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) staff and one for businesses with more than 15 Full Time Equivalent staff. Restaurants, cafes, retailers, food service and wine businesses are not eligible for this award.

Winners of the Consumer Award in 2024 are not eligible for nomination in 2025 (Haigh’s Chocolates and Mike’s Beef Jerky); The Consumer Choice Award Legends for Life are no longer eligible for nomination (Menz and Golden North Ice Cream).

  • All Australians are eligible to vote for their favourite South Australian food or beverage producer brand during the voting period.

  • South Australian food and beverage manufacturers and producers aren't required to register to participate in the South Australian Premier's Food and Beverage Industry Awards - Consumer Choice Award category.

Simply promote the 'Vote Now' link to your database of customers or followers, encouraging them to vote for your business/brand.

The Consumer Choice Award operates through a single round of online voting, with the winners determined by the number of votes received. Every business has a fair chance, and that's why we encourage active promotion of the award within your networks.

We encourage you to utilise our Promotional Toolkit which contains a Dropbox folder of digital campaign assets to assist you with your campaign.
