Celebrating Excellence at the Food and Beverage Industry Hall of Fame Breakfast
The Food and Beverage Industry Hall of Fame Breakfast provided an exclusive opportunity for guests to connect with iconic industry leaders, gain invaluable insights, and honour trailblazers who have made significant contributions to the industry.
As the concluding event of the 2024 South Australian Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards Program, the Breakfast took place at The Sanctuary, offering guests a breathtaking backdrop of the Adelaide Zoo, bringing together South Australia’s most iconic, award-winning businesses and the broader food and beverage community.
The highlight of the morning was a captivating on-stage interview with the most recent Food and Beverage Hall of Fame Inductee, Vili's Family Bakery's CEO, Alison Milisits. In a heartfelt conversation with Food South Australia CEO, Tori Dixon-Whittle, Alison shared the inspiring journey behind Vili’s rise to prominence. Established in 1978, Vili’s Family Bakery has grown into a South Australian institution, recognised for its unwavering commitment to premium quality, community impact, and industry leadership. Employing a workforce of 360, including support for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, and actively involved in local charities, Vili’s stands as a beacon of passion and purpose within the industry.
Adding to the morning’s enriching experience, previous Hall of Fame inductees hosted tables, offering guests a rare opportunity to gain first hand insights into the innovation, dedication, and leadership that define their success. Attendees also had the privilege of hearing from industry pioneers Maurice Crotti of San Remo and Roger Drake of Drakes Supermarkets during an engaging live Q&A.
Guests enjoyed a delightful all-South Australian breakfast, featuring an impressive display of Vili’s pastries on each table. A hot plated breakfast and a selection of beverages showcased some of South Australia’s finest ingredients, celebrating the region’s rich culinary offerings.
As a thoughtful parting gesture, all guests were treated to a departure gift of 'Little Vili’s' assorted pastries, perfectly paired with Beerenberg tomato sauce—a fitting conclusion to a morning filled with inspiration, connection, and celebration of South Australia's exceptional food and beverage industry.
